Art Story
In this painting May depicts women collecting a variety of bush foods.
Women are shown collecting the fruits by the 'U' motifs. They carry with them their digging sticks and coolamons (carved wooden bowls) which are typical instruments used for collecting many bush foods. The circles represent the sites where the bush foods are being collected. May likes to use traditional dot work in the background design to reflect the rich sand hill country of her country.
