Women’s Journey Dreaming Silk Scarf
Wrapped in artistry and cultural significance, Mainie Australia's Women’s Journey Dreaming silk scarf is more than just a luxurious fashion accessory, it is a tangible connection to the world’s oldest living culture.
Featuring an authentic Dreamtime design “Mina Mina Jukurrpa” by highly esteemed Warlpiri artist, Jeanie Napangardi Lewis, this beautifully handcrafted silk chiffon scarf is an exquisite wearable art piece that embodies both ancient traditions and modern style.

The Story Behind the Art: Jeanie Napangardi Lewis
Jeanie Napangardi Lewis was born around 1950 on her ancestral homelands in the Northern Territory.
Jeanie’s traditional country is Mina Mina, west of Yuendumu, a remote Aboriginal community located 290 kms north-west of Alice Springs.
Jeanie’s family lived in the bush around Mina Mina before moving into the Yuendumu community, and then onto an isolated outstation, Nyirrpi, where she lived for many years.
Jeanie married Mickey Jampijinpa Singleton and had two children, a son Eric and a daughter Minnie Napangardi.
Jeanie began painting with the Warlukurlangu Artists in 2005. Warlukurlangu is a world acclaimed Aboriginal owned and governed art centre located in Yuendumu. Founded in 1985, it has long been a stronghold for the preservation of the Warlpiri culture and language.
Jeanie's artworks depict the Dreaming stories that were passed down to her through many generations of her Warlpiri ancestors over tens of thousands of years. Her paintings capture the unique beauty of her desert homelands. Through her art, Jeanie depicts the natural features of her Mina Mina country, including the flora, fauna and bush foods found around the waterholes.
Jeanie's Women’s Journey Dreaming design symbolises the travels of Warlpiri women as they moved across their country, gathering food, performing ceremonial rites and collecting ngalyipi (snake vine), which has significant cultural and medicinal uses. As the women journeyed eastward, they shaped the landscape, leaving behind sacred sites that continue to hold deep meaning for their descendants.
